One of the perks of moving out of our pet-unfriendly Boston apartment and to the canine-compatible city of Tel Aviv is that I can finally (finally!) adopt a pooch of my own. My cat-loving husband says he's on board, but I know in his heart of hearts that he would much prefer a Luminose table lamp to the real deal.
No walks required, just an adorable little table lamp that shifts positions to mimic the personality of a live dog. (I mean, any dog lover will recognize that butt in the air pose, which was a favorite of my childhood pup, Snickers.)
Designed by Budapest couple Elizabeth Zimmerer and Márton Lente, the Luminose is customizable, with a natural, black or white body and a red, blue or pink leash. Incorporating an LED light panel, the lamp is also eco-friendly.
The Luminose is only shipping within the European Union for now, but the designers are working on global distribution. If you are in the E.U., you can still get your hands on one of the first 99 Luminose table lamps, each of which is numbered and going for €149. And, really, can you put a price on man's best friend?
