Midweek Covet: A White Out Wardrobe

clockwise from left: 3.1 Phillip Lim Umbrella Skirt Dress / IRO Suga Vest / Narciso Rodriguez Sandal

All white, all summer. At least that's the conclusion I've drawn from my latest shopping hijinks. I walked into the fitting room with an armload of clothing and walked out with a very short, very achromatic wishlist...

1) I tried on this umbrella skirt dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim at local boutique The Tannery the other day and fell instantly in love. I was afraid the volume would swallow up my small frame, but the layered effect is surprisingly flattering in addition to being office appropriate. The problem? The dress is on sale all over the interwebs, but only The Tannery still has my size in stock, and they're selling it at full price. I'll be whining about this for the rest of the week.

2) I tend to lust after every piece of IRO leather I set my eyes on, and the white Suga Vest is no exception. The cropped fit is exactly what I need for layering over sleeveless summer dress, but even the sale price is a splurge.

3) I've been on the lookout for a pair of somewhat chunky heels sans ankle strap for a while now. This white leather and python pair by Narciso Rodriguez fits the bill perfectly. The question is, do I wait for a further price reduction and risk missing out on my size, or do I bite the bullet?

Obviously, I'll have to prioritize here since I can't possibly splurge on all three. Which to choose?

  1. I'd go for the vest! You can wear it year-round :)

  2. i agree on the year-round-ness of the vest but that skirt looks adorable... i am in need of a new LWD this summer.

  3. I love the shoes! White shoes are great in summer with contrasting nail polish. It's that dilemma, do you go for it when your size is there or wait for reductions and risk not having your size?
