Street Style

You may have noticed that I tend to keep the focus off myself here, and I certainly don't like to post pictures of myself, but I couldn't let this one go. I met Amy of Chicago Street Style at the IFB Conference last month and was completely flattered when she asked to photograph me.

Now I just have to learn not to grin like a fool in the rare instance that I'm approached by a street style photographer! I'll be sure to work on my moody, cool-girl pose for next time.

Amy was one of the few people who recognized that I was wearing a real vintage Somali leopard coat. (Girl knows her stuff!) I realize it's terribly controversial, but the coat belonged to my grandmother. She and her twin sister received matching ones as high school graduation gifts in the late '30s, and I can just imagine how chic the two of them must have looked.

Amy does a beautiful job capturing the unique style of a city that is not necessarily known as a fashion capital (much like Boston!), and it's definitely worth checking out. Thanks, Amy!
