Atelier Minyon Trunk Show

I headed to the Atelier Minyon trunk show at Persona Jewelry last night with no idea of what to expect other than a cocktail or two with some of my favorite bloggers. So, imagine my glee when I saw that these were the baubles on display.

Atelier Minyon designer Alp Sagnak is based in New York but originally hails from Ankara, Turkey, and his design inspiration is an incredible mingling of the ancient and modern. He pointed out to me
detailing on several of his pieces that draws on the rich history of Turkey, particulary the Ottoman Empire.

Despite what the critics say, Boston can be quite a glamorous city. But it's a glamor of a subdued variety, and fine jewelry stores here are more likely to stock diamond tennis bracelets than jewel-encrusted spider web cuffs. Of course, there's plenty of funky costume jewelry to go around, but it's rare to find a store like Persona that sells high end with an edge.

When I say high end, I'm not kidding. Atelier Minyon's designs retail for $2,000 to $50,000 - way out of my price range but a truly beautiful choice if you're in the market for something special.
