Weekend Happenings

This weekend I'll be celebrating the birthdays of my best friend and her boyfriend. (Happy early birthdays N & J!) Yes, their birthdays are one day apart. Isn't that sickeningly cute? Knowing how many people love these two, I'm expecting to spend my evening in a martini-induced haze surrounded by pretty much everyone I've ever known. For those of you who will not be nursing hangovers, see what there is to do this weekend after the jump.

Goka Design Trunk Show
Friday, 3-8 PM
Suneri, 205 Newbury Street, Back Bay
To be honest, I've never heard of Goka shoes, but they're Brazilian, and through my love affair with Chie Mihara, I've come to realize that Brazilian shoes = quality shoes. Designer Alessandra Gold will be at Suneri today with her collection, and the shop will be providing refreshments and special discounts.

SomerFun: A Romp for Independents
Saturday, 3-7 PM
Union Square Plaza, Somerville
There's nothing I love more than a street fair, and this one is a community fundraiser, too. Head to Union Square for an open-air vendor market, live music and dance, an interactive art installation, and beer gardens.

"Sex and the City" - Exclusive Night of  High Fashion
Saturday, 9 PM - 1 AM
Blu at the Sports Club/LA, 4 Avery Street, Theater District
Well this sounds fun! Too bad they have to use a semi-lame sequel as an excuse for a fashion party in this town. In any case, the event includes a complimentary champagne reception, music, gift giveaways, and fashion shows by Zack Lo, Suneri and Uncle Pete's. Tickets are $25 and are available here.

  1. Awesome. My dad in law and I have birthdays one day apart, so we get to have joint parties. Frugal but a lot of fun!
