Ohmygod!Ohmygod!Ohmygod!

I'm going to meet Anna Wintour and Michal Kors! (And Natalia Vodianova, but I'm not quite as psyched about that.)

A phone conversation with my mom last night went something like this:

Mom: The Harris Center for Education and Advocacy in Eating Disorders is having its annual public forum on March 22. Want to go with me?

Me: God no - that sounds awful and depressing!

Mom: Wait! I haven't told you yet who's going to be there - Anna Wintour, Michael Kors and a model named Natalia V...v... something. And we're invited to a private reception before the forum.

Sweet! Dr. Herzog, who runs the Harris Center, is a family friend and is apparently likethis with Ms. Wintour. (Well, I may be exaggerating just a little. I don't think anyone is likethis with Anna Wintour.) In any case, I'll be forcing him to introduce us at the reception.

The forum at 6:00 p.m. is open to the public and is titled Health Matters: Weight and Wellness in the World of Fashion. Any step in the right direction is a huge one for the fashion industry, and it's just nice to see the bigwigs caring enough to work with the Harris Center.

  2. I am absolutely green with envy. People can bitch about Anna Wintour all they want, but I think she is pretty damn phenomenal: she's powerful, opinionated and simply doesn't suffer fools, character traits that would be widely lauded if she happened to be male.
